Precipitation Test

  1. Fill one large test tube 3/4 full with the hard water sample to be tested.
  2. Fill the second large test tube 3/4 full with the soft water sample from the demo softener.
  3. Add 10 drops of Precipitation #1 solution to each test tube.
  4. Add 10 drops of Precipitation #2 solution to each test tube.
  5. Place thumb over end of each test tube and invert several times.
  6. Place test tubes in test tube stand and compare.
